About
CRC is proud to sponsor TechForce Foundation to help eliminate the skilled trades employment gap and move the trades forward.
The CRC Build for the Future scholarship supports the next generation of tradespeople by awarding scholarships to deserving students who aspire to a career in the trades.
To demonstrate how exciting working with your hands can be, CRC wanted to sponsor an exhilarating car build, document its story online, and then sell it at an auction to the highest bidder to fund the scholarship program.
So, in early 2023, CRC commissioned long-time CRC fan and NHRA World Champion Drag Racer, Clay Millican, and Jeff Lutz of the popular TV show, Street Outlaws, to modify and upgrade a perfectly preserved 2006 Pontiac GTO.
This year, Millican, Lutz, and Mike Copeland, CEO of Arrington Performance, upgraded a cherry red ‘57 Chevy Bel Air that will debut at CRC’s SEMA booth in 2024 and later be auctioned in late 2025 or early 2026. 100% of proceeds from the sale will directly benefit Build for the Future.
The Impact
The CRC Build for the Future scholarship will be awarded to at least ten students pursuing an education in technical school (five for automotive, five for industrial/welding careers). Three of these scholarships will be awarded to women.
CRC guarantees that each student will receive a minimum of $2,500 each up to a maximum of $8,000 each, depending on the value of auction sale. If auction proceeds exceed $80,000, 100% of such excess shall be distributed to TechForce to award as additional scholarships, up to $8,000 each. Funds for this year’s scholarship recipients will be distributed between September 2025 and March 2026, depending on the auction timing.
To apply for the scholarship, please register through the TechForce portal. By joining the TechForce Network, you will have access to many other scholarships offered through TechForce in addition to the Build for the Future scholarship.
