The Car Build

In the third year of the CRC Build for the Future scholarship program, CRC is proud to unveil a head-turning classic with a legacy twist: a 1977 Chevrolet C10 Truck transformed into a Pro-Street masterpiece by the hands of Lutz Race Cars and drag racing legend Clay Millican.

This mint-condition classic, discovered in the same barn as our iconic ’57 Chevy build, will debut at the 2025 SEMA Show in CRC’s booth before hitting the track at Sick Week 2026, where Jeffrey Lutz Jr. will race the car against his own father.

Under the hood lies a high-performance Edelbrock/Musi engine, a nod to drag racing icon and master engine builder Pat Musi. This resto-mod marvel features a striking red finish and blends old-school style with race-ready power.

This truck isn’t just a build — it’s a generational challenge, a tribute to performance heritage, and another chapter in CRC’s commitment to powering the future of skilled trades.

Chevy 10 - CRC Build for the Future
This beautifully restored vehicle, featuring a striking red and black interior, is powered by a hydrogen-fueled, Edelbrock-supercharged Gen3 HEMI engine, designed by Mike Copeland, CEO of Arrington Performance and retired GM engineer.

This hot rod proves that high performance and eco-friendly fuel can coexist without sacrificing the signature feel, sound, and horsepower of a traditional gasoline engine. Assembled by renowned racing legends Clay Millican and Jeff Lutz, this one-of-a-kind build also boasts a TCI automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes.
